Smart Cooking Assistant -- For Effortless Cooking!

Our vision is to create a Smart Cooking Assistant, an AI-powered kitchen companion that makes cooking easier, smarter, and more intuitive. By combining sensors and AI, it helps with timing your food, seasoning, and preventing overcooking so anyone can cook with confidence.

We're planning to integrate a wide range of sensors and develop a hands-free voice control system as the user interface. No one likes touching and typing on display surfaces with messy hands!

Currently, we are testing optical sensors in the visible and infrared Spectrum to track food conditions such as color changes and heat development in water pots. Additionally, we want to integrate smoke, air quality, and humidity sensors to better understand the cooking environment. These features will allow the Smart Cooking Assistant to detect potential issues -- like overheating oil or excessive smoke -- before they become a problem. 

To make steady progress, we are breaking the project into small steps. After each stage, we check what works, what needs improvement, and what is realistic with our skills and hardware. This helps us focus on building a reliable and useful assistant rather than adding too many unfinished features.

Its important to us to make cooking easier for everyone, and not to introduce a buggy gadget.
